Treadle Machine Table Centre

I was introduced to a darling old 'Treadle' sewing machine about 7 years ago after my sister saw her on a local community notice board 'for sale'. I went & met her right away and have not really hung out with her at all in that time I have just admired her & wondered what her history is and what stories she could share with me. Recently I got the urge to do a real catch up with this old darling :) After tweaking her tension of being alone for so long, we got to know each other and became rather good friends :) I made a coffee & pulled out my box of scrappy crumb fabrics (as I do with my friends) and this old darling & I went for a real work out together. It was like no other gym that I had ever been to. LOL I decided that since my sister introduced me & this old darling "Treadle" that she could have the first item made at the first meeting. Yes, I am going to have coffee and a chat with "Treadle" again in the not too distant future as we have formed a real lasting friendship.

New Holiday Runner

I was inspired by a block I saw on line. One of the reds is from Moda's Hustle Bustle collection, the other red is a batik, the green is from Moda's Homegrown Holidays - a Deb Strain collection. The black I had leftover from the tree skirt I made a few years back. I put the green on the back. Fun to do.

Kathy's Bargello Table Runner

My sister Kathy who owns her own Bed & Breakfast in Hanmar Springs in NZ will be celebrating her 60th Birthday this year so I decided to make something really special for her. Twister Table Runner

I purchased these fabric ends from a quilt shop that opened a few years ago. I had also purchased the "Mini Twister" and wanted to try it out...and this is the result (I did use some vanilla 5" charms for the border). Again, this was pieced in Nov 2019, but quilted and bound today (Apr 2021). I did put rod pockets on the back so that it could also be used as a wall hanging or something different to hang in the window of my front door. I'm starting to feel better about cleaning up the UFOs.

Ice Crystal Table Runner

Found this pattern on Annie's Catalog and just had to make it for the winter season. I added a small outside border as I loved the batik medium fabric I chose. Love the background fabric as it had silver sparkle swirls - although hard to see from the photo. Easy and fun to do. Pattern uses fat quarters but I just used yardage.

Five and Dime Runner

I watched Jenny and Lynn making the Five and Dime quilt and loved the look. I got the rulers and some Kansas Troubles fabrics and decided I'd make one too. Well, not too far into the project, I got a bit defeated cutting all those tiny squares (I was using charms and candies). Once I had enough assembled, I made a table runner instead.
