    Table Runner of Flower Baskets and Butterflies

    When I first started with our church group, I didn't sew back then by the way . Anyway people donated things from their stash closets. This was something no one wanted . It was just a printed pattern in brown lines of flower baskets and butterflies. I recall helping my Mom make pillow cases using paints for the printed designs. So took this and it has been in my closet for years. My granddaughter about 5 years ago colored one basket with pens. I finished the others using Crayon crayons and then put paper towels on the top and iron the color into the fabric. I didn't know what to make with this stuff and decided a table runner would work. Found some pretty material for the back so reversible. I really like it now.

    A friend's mother wanted her to try quilting. She wanted to please her Mom but did not want to go on her own. I went with for the fun and are still enjoying quilting. I do not have a lot of time to quilt; I love every minute of it, even though I am still a novice with much to learn

    A Lost and Found Christmas Table Runner

    Jenny Doan's Disappearing Pinwheel 5 Twist Quilt tutorial in a Christmas fabric was a perfect match. I used "Lost and Found Christmas" precut layer cake by Riley lake for a table runner. It has designs which look like the old fashioned Christmas decorations I recall growing up. I also love how the pattern reminds me of little presents tied with bows. The backing fabric, from the same line, is an all-over Christmas tree. I channel quilted the top and free motioned a chain swirl for the border using the attachments on my Bernina sewing machine. I am pleased with the result. It will add a festive touch to the holidays.
