My sewing friend had some leftovers from jelly rolls, I divided them up and tried these two patterns. They came out perfectly! Quilting is a medium sized meander.

This quilt was a Christmas gift for my husband. I quilted along a jelly roll, I really enjoyed making this one. The quilting part was made on my treadle machine. I used to really enjoy sewing with her (not so much to thread her, though!)

Large beach Bag

Last summer my younger daughter wanted a large tote, so she went through my fabrics and found these Island Batik strips. I wasn't sure what to do and for some reason the braid idea emerged. I even took a few scrap strips from the braids and sewed them into the handle of the bag. She used it a lot for going to the local pool. On the back I just sewed the strips up coin style. It turned out pretty good for no pattern!

Bonnie Hunter's "Moth in the Window" pattern quilt

Update: I just finished hand binding this quilt. I quilted with Wasatch Quilting design called "Daisy 2021" with Omni Fountain Mist and Warm and Natural. - My quilt guild had two workshops with Bonnie Hunter in April 2017. I started this quilt in one of those workshops. I made this quilt top for my friend/neighbor that loves butterflies and moths. Her favorite color is green. I started making green blocks in the workshop. My friend went to a quilt shop with me and loved a colorful batik sample quilt on the wall, so I alternated batik blocks with the green blocks. I didn't sash the blocks like the pattern, changed the border to piano key and added a moth in each corner of border. I hope to quilt this top tomorrow. 78" x 86"

wedding gift

My daughter's friend was married in the Spring. This quilt is for couple. I quilted their last name and the year they were married in the center of the heart in one of the blocks. I made this with a jellyroll and batik yardage, it has off white minky on the back.

Walking For My Heart

I Walked The Line Challenge No. 4 0f 52; There was definitely a lot of walking in this mini quilt! This is called Matchstick Quilting that I learned with Jacquie Gering's book, "Walk: Master Machine Quilting with Your Walking Foot". The quilting is 1/8" apart and definitely required "walking" with the walking foot (and 2 bobbins full of thread . . . lol)!

Minimalist Palampore

I needed to make a new backing for our summer quilt and the "Finish Line" tutorial caught my eye. I realized that the Orange Peel shapes would make a nice tree of life (Palampore) so I sketched and calculated and came up with this variation. Fabrics are Cookie Dough jelly Roll (Mo Quilts), Serene Leaf batik (Hobby Lobby) and Hoffman Painted Forest batik (FabricUtopia). The blue diamonds are velour scraps from the damaged quilt.

Spring twist memories

My mom who suffers from early dementia just recently sold her house to be near her kids The last thing we sewed together were curtains for her bedroom. She loves teal blue and her late husband loved orange. We had a heck of a time getting orange grosgrain ribbon sewed on straight. We finally had it perfect and realized we had sewn it on the wrong side instead of crying we started laughing hysterically. It’s a memory she still has. This solid blue fabric was left over from those curtains and I used a mixed stash of jelly rolls for the rest. I only had to purchase backing it’s in the mail to her now and I wish I could see her face when she opens it. I’m sure my brother will snap a picture for me.
