This is No. 8 of my walking-foot challenge. After struggling with my HST quilt, I decided I needed something fun to make. . . and these were very fun to make! First I straight lined stitched the background, then appliqued the wonky boxes and then I just wonky stitched at random the individual boxes themselves.

Summer Fruit Salad

I tried some English paper piecing. This pattern was purchased at a guild meeting and altered to fit my needs. Machine quilting rather than hand piecing. I decided to use some charm squares that had been patiently waiting in a basket and went shopping for a solid ombré fabric at my local quilt shop. It was a fun, quick project and the first to be completed in 2019!

Mini Quilt to brighten my office

I made a queen size quilt in this same design for my sister for her 40th birthday. Loved it and just had to bring a splash of color to my work office so put this little guy together. I love this geometry and the vibrancy batiks can offer so this makes my work days brighter and more fun. I also made a little holder out of bamboo for a couple of my air plants. I think they go well together.

Elk Block

Every fall we go to the mountains to hear the Elk bugle. This week I started my Mountain Wildlife quilt blocks. The first block is of an elk. I used fall colors and added a bit of texture. The antlers are made of wool felt. Hopefully the bear claw is next so stay tuned.

Building Blocks by Moda Bake Shop pattern

I found this darling baby fabric so then I found the pattern for free on Moda's web site. It goes together easily. You don't have to have the center square monogrammed, but I thought it made it special. I put Cuddle Cloth on the back of both quilts. Moms and babies love it! I have one pink quilt & one blue quilt pictured.
